CHALLENGING TIMES
In an increasingly secular world the Christian church everywhere faces similar challenges. How does the church demonstrate its relevance in a society that no longer shares its values? How does it break out of its isolation and build relational bridges to those outside the church?
GOOD DEEDS & GOOD NEWS
A solution lies in rediscovering the fullness of the gospel as both 'Good Deeds' and 'Good News'. It is through selfless service that we demonstrate the church's relevance to our society and build bridges over which Good News can travel.
OWNING OUR COMMUNITY
It is the responsibility of the local church to own the community in which God has planted it. God has a purpose for our living and worshipping where we do (Acts 17:26, 27). Everyone longs for a sense of community, and local churches could play a huge role in building community and putting heart back into their neighbourhoods.
LOVE YOUR STREET
Imagine if every street and community across South Manchester was befriended and prayed for by a local church and was being blessed through a simple strategy of 'Prayer - Care - Share'!
So this is the vision of ‘Love Your Street’ - Prayer for the people in your street, care for them by getting involved and share your life.
So send an Easter card, invite people for a tea or coffee, offer to pray, help your neighbour in someway, just show that you and the church cares for your street or community.
